George Orwell (b. 25 June 1903, Motihari, India–d. 21 January 1950, London, England) is the pen name for British author Eric Arthur Blair. Elisaveta Fen (pen name of Lidiia Vitalevna Zhiburtovich, 1899-1983) emigrated from the Soviet Union to England in 1926 and established herself as a novelist, journalist, translator and memoirist writing in English.
